About StartupScale

Turn any company URL into a complete competitive intelligence report in about five minutes.

The problem we solve

Understanding a competitor or a new market still takes far too long. The work is scattered across a dozen browser tabs: one tool for traffic estimates, another for the tech stack, a manual read of the pricing page, a search for funding news, a guess at the marketing strategy. Hours later you have a messy document, half of it already stale, and no consistent way to compare one company against the next.

StartupScale removes that grind. Instead of stitching together fragments by hand, you enter a single URL and receive one structured, comparable report covering the entire business — traffic, technology, positioning, pricing, and momentum — in the time it takes to drink a coffee. Research that used to consume an afternoon becomes a five-minute task you can repeat for every company you care about.

How it works

The flow is deliberately simple: a URL goes in, and a finished report comes out. Behind that simplicity, StartupScale runs a multi-stage pipeline for every analysis.

First, we pull real data about the target company from several independent sources in parallel. Then a large language model reads everything we gathered and synthesizes it into a single, well-organized report — not a wall of raw numbers, but a narrative with scores, comparisons, and clear takeaways. The result is consistent in structure from one company to the next, which is exactly what makes side-by-side competitive analysis possible.

  • Traffic and audience data from SimilarWeb — monthly visits, traffic sources, top geographies, and device split.
  • Technology detection with Wappalyzer and a real headless browser (Playwright), so we see the stack the site actually loads.
  • On-page scraping (via Cheerio) of the company's own About and Pricing pages for first-party context.
  • Multi-source research with Perplexity for reviews, funding history, news, and competitor names.
  • Synthesis with Google Gemini, which weaves all of the above into the final structured report.

What makes us different

Plenty of tools will ask a language model to describe a company and hand you whatever it remembers. That approach reads well and is often wrong, because the model is guessing from old training data with no way to check itself.

StartupScale is built the opposite way. The intelligence comes from real, current evidence we collect at the moment you run the analysis — measured traffic, the technologies a site genuinely uses, the actual words on its pricing page, and live multi-source research. The AI's job is to organize and explain that evidence, not to invent it. That grounding in proprietary, freshly pulled data is the core of what we do and the reason our reports hold up to scrutiny.

What's in a report

Every StartupScale report is a complete profile of a company, organized into sections you can scan in seconds or read in depth:

  • Business model — how the company makes money and who it serves.
  • Website traffic — monthly visits, traffic sources, geographic breakdown, and device mix.
  • Tech stack — the frontend, backend, analytics, and infrastructure powering the site.
  • Marketing analysis — a SWOT view, primary channels, and the tools they rely on.
  • UI/UX style — the brand's colors, typography, and overall design language.
  • Overall evaluation — a composite score that summarizes the company's standing at a glance.
  • Competitors, pricing tiers, and funding & news — the market context around the company.

Who it's for

StartupScale is built for anyone who needs to understand a company quickly and act on it. Founders use it to size up rivals before they build, and to find the gaps a new product can win. Marketers use it to reverse-engineer the channels and tools driving a competitor's growth. Investors and analysts use it to run fast, consistent diligence across a list of companies. Product managers use it to benchmark their own experience against the best in their category.

If your work involves competitive research or market discovery, StartupScale turns a slow, manual chore into something you can do on demand — and repeat as often as the market changes.

Our mission

We believe high-quality competitive intelligence should not be a privilege of teams with big research budgets. A solo founder evaluating a market deserves the same clarity as an analyst at a large firm.

Our mission is to make rigorous, evidence-based company analysis instant and accessible to everyone — so that the time you used to spend gathering scattered facts can go into the decision that actually matters. StartupScale is an independent product built and operated with care, and we keep our claims honest: the reports are a powerful informational starting point, designed to make you faster and better informed, not to replace your own judgment.
